The system is very easy to use and set up. The software is menu driven and if you take the time to understand the logic behind how it is designed to work, then it is straight forward. Reusable paks are a BIG plus.
The AMO compact has a reusable cassette as an option. Very few systems on the market today offer the ability to use disposable and reusable items. The controversy about reusable items is valid if you do not use proper techniques to clean the device. The AMO cassette is only tubing and the ability to flush and then sterilize is quite easy.

This system has problems with BSS leaking into the system and destroying the Phaco controller board. If I were able to buy parts (not possible with AMO) then it would be an easy fix. There are 3 systems in my inventory that do not work because of this board being pickled in salt. I am thinking a FDA incident report may be in order to get AMO to respond to selling parts to repair systems. Other than the repair issues, the system works. well.
