RadNet, a leader in outpatient diagnostic imaging services, is acquiring six imaging centers in Houston, Texas, marking its second major expansion in the area. The move will increase RadNet's total number of centers in Houston to 13, following its recent acquisition of seven centers from Houston Medical Imaging.

The centers, currently operating under the American Health Imaging brand, offer a comprehensive suite of services including MR, CT scans, mammography, ultrasound, and X-ray. RadNet plans to rebrand these centers under the Houston Medical Imaging name, signaling a unified presence in the region. This acquisition is poised to enhance RadNet's procedural capacity by over 100,000 and generate an additional $15 million in revenue annually.

Dr. Howard Berger, RadNet’s president and CEO, emphasized the significance of the Houston market, citing its status as the fourth most populous city and second fastest-growing metropolitan area in the U.S. Berger expressed optimism about the company's growth prospects in Houston, including the potential for new builds and health system partnerships. He also hinted at the introduction of advanced AI and digital health solutions to the local healthcare community.

Scheduled to conclude by the end of Q2 2024, this acquisition underlines RadNet's ongoing commitment to providing accessible, high-quality, and cost-effective diagnostic imaging services. With a robust network of 366 owned and/or operated outpatient imaging centers across several key states, and a workforce of approximately 9,700, RadNet solidifies its position as a leading national provider in the diagnostic imaging space. This expansion not only strengthens RadNet’s operational footprint but also aligns with its mission to enhance patient care through innovative diagnostic solutions.
