The refurbished Epiq 5 is a shared service color Doppler ultrasound machine that features Philips’ new imaging architecture: nSIGHT. nSIGHT is Philips new beamforming and processing technology designed to greatly improve spatial, temporal, and contrast resolution. In addition to nSIGHT, the Epiq 5 also includes Philips previous high-end imaging technologies including PureWave transducers, MicroCPA for better low-flow angio, ShearWave elastography, compound imaging (SonoCT), and speckle reduction imaging (XRES).
While many other Philips ultrasound systems until the Epiq series have specialized in Cardiovascular applications, the Epiq series are all shared service machines. They are capable of projecting images for many applications including but not limited to abdominal, women's health applications, cardiovascular, transcranial doppler and musculoskeletal and small parts. All of these applications can be employed for either adult or pediatric patients
