The GE Voluson E6 is a high-end 4D OB/GYN and women's health ultrasound machine. Despite looking exactly like the Voluson E8 Ultrasound System from the outside, the E6 is more economical, and a little less ostentatious with its technological potential. It is considered a mid-range system out of the entire GE Voluson series, but has the technological capabilities that match many other premier ultrasound systems.
Compatible with some of the most advanced GE ultrasound transducers and probes, the Voluson E6 features a 19 inch swiveling monitor, a 10-inch touch screen to provide a more user-friendly system for diagnosticians, and a 4 probe port. Imaging enhancing technology includes Tissue Harmonic Imaging, CrossXBeam (Speckle Reduction), Triplex Mode, SonoNT (Auto NT Measurement) and SmartExam and SmartAssist. Despite being a "specialty" system - best known for it's women's health applications, it is also capable of being employed for small parts, abdominal, intraoperative / musculoskeletal, and vascular applications.
This system is also compatible with some of the most advanced GE transducers available, including curved array, linear array, phased array, 3D/4D convex and endo-vaginal transducers, and endocavitary probes.
